1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using PDF Redaction ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
PDF Redaction provides document redaction tools that detect and anonymize personally identifiable information (PII) in documents. The Service processes documents locally on your device and does not transmit document content to external servers.
3. Use of the Service
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Use the Service to process documents you do not have the right to process
4. User Content
Documents you process through the Service remain entirely under your control. We do not store, access, or claim any rights to your documents or the content within them. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights and permissions to process any documents through the Service.
5. Subscription and Payment
As of March 17, 2026, the Service offers only a Free plan for registered users. The current launch offer allows up to 10 documents per day per registered account. We may introduce paid plans in the future. If and when paid plans are enabled, we will update these Terms and the pricing page before accepting payment.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, algorithms, and documentation, is owned by PDF Redaction and protected by intellectual property laws.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. While we strive for high accuracy in PII detection, we do not guarantee that the Service will detect all instances of PII in every document. You should review redacted documents before distribution.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDF Redaction shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
